Murder on the Orient Express

Murder on the Orient Express at Grand Opera House York

Why see Murder on the Orient Express?

The Greatest Whodunnit Of All

Since its publication in 1934, Agatha Christie's iconic locomotive whodunnit Murder On The Orient Express has thrilled and chilled readers and audiences with subsequent stage/screen adaptations over the decades, including a Hollywood blockbuster or two. In a new staging by Ken Ludwig, director Lucy Bailey and Firey Angel Productions don't miss this elegant tale of murder and mystery as it pulls into town on this much anticipated new tour!

What is the story?

Having just solved a mysterious theft in Jerusalem, Christie's mustachioed detective Hercule Poirot decides a small vacation is in order. But unfortunately for Poirot, crime never takes a holiday! Best laid plans are interrupted by a last-minute trip to Calais on the opulent Orient Express. Things take a gruesome turn when a body is discovered and an avalanche stops the train in its tracks. Amongst the colorful cast of first-class travelers, a murderer lurks in plain sight, and once again, it's up to Poirot to uncover the culprit.
